Science in year 5

In year 5 children are doing about the solar system and so far we know facts about Venus Mercury and Earth. The lessons are ruled by Mrs Friel, who knows lots about the solar system  The children learnt how to remember the planets names by using the first letter of the planet in a sentence. They also learnt which is the hottest planet and why. They also learnt why the North and South Poles have 6 months of daylight and 6 months of night time. They learnt about dwarf planets. Children now know how we get solar eclipses and lunar eclipses. They also learnt more things about the solar system.
