Girls' 6-a-side football tournament

On Wednesday 18th May, thirteen of us drove to Test Park in the St. George Catholic School minibus. Eighteen teams were there to play in the Girls' 6-a-side football tournament. The 'A' team finished second in their group whilst the 'B' team were seventh. In the semi-final we lost 2-0 to Ludlow but we all had great fun!

The Planetarium.

On the 27th of April, our school was lucky enough to have someone to show us some of the planets in a planetarium ! It was a large circular shape that is pumped up and zipped. Inside there was a large area where we sat and we saw a large image of a grassland. The man used a pointer device to change that image  from day to night and when it was night, he put us onto Jupiter.  Then the man took us to Pluto which is now considered a dwarf planet because of its size.
After that, we had time to go on a virtual roller coaster to Saturn that ended in a crash! But it was marvellous.  As soon as we were all mesmerised by the experience , we learnt about lunar eclipses and how the brightness courses by the sun overlapping the moon . We them watched a short cartoon about what happened in China's lunar eclipse . The cartoon was about the man’s friend who did not had a good experience of the eclipse as the clouds came down and blocked its sight .

Music

Today I'm going to be talking to you about my favourite lesson in school: music . I love music is a great way to express your feelings that's why I love it . We've been doing music ever  since  we were in Foundation and I loved it . Just a couple of weeks ago we were told we were going to start doing performances in groups and just today we performed  in front of the class it took weeks of practice . Are music teacher was going to pick the best group and the winning group would put our video of our recording of our music on our school website . Our teacher Mrs Crighton-Lee and she is the best music teacher you could ever ask for . She knows everything about music she amazing teacher for music . I've loved her as our music teacher and if she ever leaves I will be so sad she great at music . Our performance  was amazing and soon our performance  video will be on the website . I'm so excited about it . I think our performances were great  I can't wait for people to see them on the school website . I sure people will love the sound of the music we made on the interments . The sound we had to make was a space sound  and I thought everyone did great . Someday a person from this class could become a musical person all because Mrs Crighton-Lee helped us with music .

Planetarium

Last Wednesday a man came in to Springhill and set up a planetarium to show us the planets in the solar system.
First of all, we used a parachute with small nets in it to roll balls the shape of each planet in the solar system into the right net .
After this ,we went into the planetarium and sat on the floor of it . All of a sudden, the light came on and we could see the stars. The man in charge showed us each planet in turn , starting with mercury. Once we had done this,we did a virtual roller coaster of Saturn .
