Southampton Music Festival

On the 16th March, the Springhill Choir participated in the Southampton Music and Drama Festival. The Music Festival involved 6 schools all singing different songs. There were two sections for the competition and the songs sung in the first half were: Eye of the Tiger, Rollercoaster, Let Love Shine Through and Siahumba. We Will Rock You, Colours of the Wind, McCavity, The Mystery Cat and Consider Yourself were all sung in the second half. Our school sang McCavity,

The Mystery Cat and we were told we did excellently! Mrs McWilliams (our conductor and teacher)  allowed us to have solos and the soloists were: Freya, Beatrice, Pippa, Sara, Isobel and Natalia.

Soon after everyone had sung their song/s they announced the winners! Everyone was buzzing with excitement to find out and the anticipation was rising throughout the Auditorium. This is what the judges said: "We enjoyed all of the performances however we can only choose one winner..." everyone crossed their fingers and the judges continued "...with 86 points, the winner is SPRINGHILL PRIMARY with McCavity The Mysery Cat!!"

ALL of Springhill Choir screamed and consequently nearly lost their voices!

It was an amazing experience and everyone had SO much fun! We were even invited to the Festival Gala on the 24th March!
